Mineral Fertilizer Use and the Environment

This report analyzes the issues concerning the use of mineral fertilizers. Improvement of the efficiency of fertilizer use is highlighted as a major challenge. Inefficient use not only increases the risk of negative environmental impacts, but also represents a large waste of natural resources and a substantial economic loss.
